Quick view Summary
Victoza
Description
Victoza, also known as liraglutide, is a medication originally developed to manage type 2 diabetes. However, its properties as a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist have shown promise in promoting weight loss and overall health in certain patients. This has led to its off-label use as a weight loss aid, similar to Saxenda. Saxenda is a brand name for liraglutide specifically approved for weight management. Both medications have similarities in their mechanisms of action and potential benefits when used off-label for weight loss.
