Looking at your Glucose

Getting your blood glucose levels tested is one of the best ways to understand your diabetes predisposition. Our Diabetes test can help you understand how different foods, medications, and activities affect your glucose levels.

Our Diabetes Test will analyse the two biomarkers;
✔️Haemoglobin A1C (hbA1c)
✔️Glucose Metabolism

Biomarker 1: Hemoglobin A1C (hbA1c)

HBA1C refers to glycated haemoglobin. It develops when a protein, within red blood cells, carries oxygen around your body and joins with glucose in the blood, becoming ‘glycated’. Our test will measure your HbA1C and display what your average blood sugars have been over a period of time. It is a great test for pre-diabetic or diabetic people who have changed their diet and physical activity.

Biomarker 2: Glucose Metabolism

Glucose is the main type of sugar in the blood. It plays a key role in keeping the mechanisms of the body running smoothly. People don’t usually notice when their glucose levels are good but when they are bad the body will function differently and the unhealthy effects of a low glucose level will be noticed. Glucose levels that are unhealthy can have very serious effects that can be permanent.
