    Relactagel Lactate Vaginal Gel 5ml

    Description

Relactagel Lactate Vaginal Gel 5ml x 7 is a specialized and over-the-counter (OTC) product designed to support and maintain a healthy vaginal pH balance. It plays a crucial role in the prevention and management of common vaginal imbalances, such as bacterial vaginosis (BV) and recurrent vaginal infections.

A balanced vaginal pH level is essential for optimal vaginal health. The vaginal environment is naturally acidic, with a pH level typically ranging between 3.8 and 4.5. This acidity helps inhibit the growth of harmful bacteria while promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria. An imbalance in pH can lead to discomfort, itching, unusual discharge, and an increased risk of infections.

Relactagel, containing lactic acid, is formulated to restore and maintain the acidic environment necessary for vaginal health. It helps support the growth of lactobacilli, which are "good" bacteria that play a crucial role in maintaining the vaginal ecosystem.

    Directions

Using Relactagel Lactate Vaginal Gel 5ml x 7 is straightforward and can be integrated into your daily routine:
Wash Hands: Begin by thoroughly washing your hands with soap and water.
Open a Single Dose Tube: Each box of Relactagel contains individual, pre-measured 5ml tubes. Open one tube by twisting off the top.
Insert the Gel: While lying on your back with your knees bent, gently insert the nozzle of the tube into the vagina as deeply as it feels comfortable. Squeeze the tube to release the gel.
Remove the Tube: Carefully remove the empty tube from the vagina.
Dispose of the Tube: Discard the used tube in a waste bin. Do not flush it down the toilet.
Repeat as Directed: For most individuals, one tube per day is recommended, usually at bedtime, for a course of 7 days or as directed by a healthcare provider.

    Ingredients

Relactagel Lactate Vaginal Gel contains the active ingredient:
Lactic Acid (as sodium lactate): Lactic acid is a naturally occurring organic acid found in the body. In Relactagel, it helps lower the vaginal pH, creating an acidic environment conducive to the growth of beneficial lactobacilli.
In addition to lactic acid, the gel contains other inactive ingredients that help maintain the gel's consistency and effectiveness.
Relactagel is free from fragrances and preservatives, making it suitable for individuals with sensitive skin.

    Side effects

Relactagel Lactate Vaginal Gel is generally well-tolerated, and side effects are rare. However, as with any product, individual responses may vary. The most common side effects are mild and may include a temporary sensation of warmth or stinging upon application. These effects typically subside quickly.
In rare cases, some individuals may experience localized skin irritation or an allergic reaction. If you develop symptoms such as itching, redness, swelling, or a rash after using Relactagel, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention.

    Warnings

Before using Relactagel Lactate Vaginal Gel 5ml x 7, consider the following warnings and precautions:
Not a Medication: Relactagel is not a medication and should not be used to treat diagnosed vaginal infections. If you suspect you have a vaginal infection or experience persistent discomfort, consult with a healthcare provider for proper evaluation and treatment.
External Use Only: Relactagel is intended for vaginal use only. Do not ingest the gel or use it on other parts of the body.
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult with a healthcare provider before using Relactagel. They can provide guidance based on your individual circumstances.
Condom Use: Avoid using latex condoms immediately after applying Relactagel, as the gel may weaken the latex. If you plan to use condoms, wait for at least 30 minutes after applying the gel.
Storage: Store Relactagel in a cool, dry place, and keep it out of direct sunlight. Ensure that the product is tightly closed when not in use and out of reach of children.

    FAQs

Can Relactagel Be Used During Menstruation?

Yes, Relactagel can be used during menstruation. However, it's advisable to follow the same application instructions as provided. If you have concerns about the product's effectiveness during your period, consult with a healthcare provider for personalized guidance.

Can Relactagel Prevent All Vaginal Infections?

Relactagel is designed to help maintain a healthy vaginal pH balance and reduce the risk of certain infections, such as bacterial vaginosis (BV). While it can be a valuable preventive measure, it may not prevent all types of vaginal infections. Good hygiene practices and safe sexual behaviors are also important for vaginal health.

How Long Should I Wait After Using Relactagel Before Engaging in Sexual Activity?

It is generally recommended to wait for at least 30 minutes after applying Relactagel before engaging in sexual activity, especially if using latex condoms. This waiting period allows the gel to fully disperse and minimizes the potential for gel-condom interaction.

Can Relactagel Be Used While Trying to Conceive?

Yes, Relactagel can be used when trying to conceive. It is safe for couples who are actively trying to get pregnant. However, if you have specific concerns about using the gel in your fertility journey, consult with a healthcare provider for personalized guidance.

Can I Share Relactagel with Someone Else?

It is not advisable to share personal care products like Relactagel with someone else. The gel is designed for individual use and should not be shared to prevent potential cross-contamination or the spread of infections. Each individual should use their own tube.
